Job Summary:

PSMRI will work as the Sub-Recipient (SR) to the Global Fund TB grant where Karnataka Health Promotion Trust (KHPT) as Principal Recipient (PR) assumes a central role in bolstering the efforts of the Central TB Division (CTD) to combat tuberculosis. The Integrated Measures for Prevention and Care in TB (IMPACT) India project will focus on providing specialized programs in key areas, including technical assistance, community engagement, and capacity building. Major interventions will include TB Champion Engagement initiatives across 14 states and one UT, supporting TB Mukt Grama Panchayath activities in 13 states, and offering specific Technical Assistance to CTD for Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) and Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA) activities nationwide. Additionally, there will be a strong emphasis on Capacity Building for NTEP frontline staff to enhance their ability to provide counselling support to DRTB patients. PSMRI will implement the program in 38 districts of 4 states focusing on TB-Mukt Gram Panchayat and TB champion activities. 

The designated position of ‘Senior Manager - Monitoring and Evaluation' will support the Program Manager, in all day-to-day monitoring of the program activities, and research components of the project in the implementation states. S/he will perform analysis of the programme data and support the state teams in maintaining data quality and analysis of the programme monitoring data in the project areas.

This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Oversee the quality of project data, ensuring adherence to accuracy, timeliness, and ethical standards.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks on monitoring data within project areas through random field visits. Validate data and provide hands-on support to state teams.
  • Prepare regular reports highlighting key performance indicators and submit them to the Program Manager consistently.
  • Utilize statistical tools and MS Excel to conduct data analysis. Identify significant trends and levels from programme data for potential areas of improvement.
  • Provide constructive feedback and strategic guidance to the state implementation team based on data analysis
  • and quality control findings.
  • Conduct on-site field visits to validate monitoring data, ensuring its accuracy and reliability. Offer support and guidance to state teams in the data collection process.
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager and other stakeholders to align monitoring activities with project
  • goals and objectives.
  • Provide training and capacity-building support to state teams, ensuring a consistent understanding of data collection protocols and quality standards.
  • Uphold ethical standards in data monitoring processes, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and protocols.

Desirable Qualification & Skills

  • Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Population Studies, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Commerce or equivalent disciplines.
  • Demonstrate expertise in implementing and managing M&E processes for significant public health initiatives, showcasing strong data analysis and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel and statistical tools, with the ability to derive actionable insights from data through software applications.
  • Exhibit a sound understanding of the health and development sector, particularly issues affecting marginalized communities.
  • Showcase good interpersonal skills, tact, maturity, flexibility, and empathy in professional interactions.
  • Ready and willing to travel across the implementation states of the SR/DI to ensure effective M&E processes and outcomes.

Desirable Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) within the context of largescale public health or development interventions
  • Experience in leading multi-state/national projects
  • Experience in managing government stake holders at state-level/national project

Travel:  Low to Medium (travel to the State Headquarters, Field visit to States and Districts)
