Role Overview 

The Sr. Project Coordinator - Thematic will be instrumental in implementing and managing  agriculture and livelihood programs. This role requires an individual with deep expertise in  sustainable agriculture, training methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.  The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership qualities, problem-solving abilities, and  adaptability to NGO work culture. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Crop Management & Sustainable Agriculture: Provide expertise in crop management, soil  health, pest and disease management, and sustainable farming practices. 
• Training & Capacity Building: Organize and conduct training sessions for farmers,  Community Resource Persons (CRPs), and staff, including Training of Trainers (ToT).
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records, project documentation, and  prepare detailed reports on project progress. 
• Production Planning & Demonstrations: Oversee production planning, conduct  trial/demo presentations, and introduce innovative farming techniques.
• Problem-Solving & Field Challenges: Identify challenges in the agricultural field and  develop effective solutions. 
• Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with internal teams, government agencies, NGOs,  farmers, and other partners to ensure smooth project execution. 
• Partnership Management: Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders for collaborative initiatives. 
• Advanced Data Management: Utilize Advanced Excel for data analysis, project monitoring,  budget management, and tracking timelines. 
• Leadership & Team Management: Guide and train CRAs, field workers, and project teams,  fostering a productive and inclusive work environment. 
• Cultural Sensitivity & Rural Adaptation: Work effectively in diverse cultural settings,  ensuring projects align with local customs and community needs. 
• Travel: Be open to extensive field visits and on-site project monitoring. 

 

Qualifications & Skills 

• Education: B. Sc/M. Sc. in Agriculture, Organic Farming, Soil Science, or related fields.
• Project Coordination Experience: Proven track record in managing large-scale agricultural  projects. 
• Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in agricultural/organic farming research, data  collection, and grassroots implementation. 
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the  local language. 
• Analytical & Organizational Skills: Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks,  and meet project deadlines effectively. 
• NGO Work Culture Adaptability: Prior experience in the NGO sector, with an understanding  of rural development dynamics. 

 

Additional Information 

• Residency Requirement: Candidates must be local residents of Odisha/Jharkhand.
• Compensation: Up to 3 Lakh (Fixed) + Variable Pay + Commitment Bonus.  Compensation will be aligned with qualifications, experience, and prior salary.
