Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a multi-campus public university in Mumbai, India. It is Asia's oldest institute for professional social work education and was founded in 1936 in the then Bombay Presidency of British India as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust.

Job Description/Responsibilities

The Research Associate (RA) at LMRF is responsible for effectively managing all activities across multiple cities, including the current centres in Mumbai, while aligning with the overall vision of LMRF. The RA is also responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and ensuring the execution of upcoming plans, projects, and aspirations of LMRF, ensuring that substantive work programmes and activities are carried out efficiently and on time.

• The RA will drive and initiate research projects and programmes of LMRF, leading writing research proposals, consulting assignments and product development.
• The RA will be involved in developing new short-term teaching programs and also revising the existing teaching content in existing programs of LMRF.
• The RA will lead and initiate the research publications (reports, policy briefs, briefing papers) from the LMRF on aspects of sustainability.
• The RA will also support teaching activities for academic programmes at LMRF, including BS in Analytics and Sustainability Studies, MA/MSc in Analytics, and the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Data Analytics. This includes preparing study materials and handling administration-related tasks.
• The RA will be involved in teaching programmes offered by LMRF, such as the PAR Certificate Program, MIDP Program, FDP Programs, and other planned initiatives.
• The RA will contribute to developing study materials for various programmes and administrative responsibilities.
• The RA will assist faculty and programme coordinators in running academic programmes and projects at LMRF in Mumbai and other locations, requiring coordination with teams across different centres.
• Working with other teams across Ofqual to provide methodological, research and evidencebased support, as required. Performing research on projects in collaboration with external organisations (including academic departments).
• Critically reviewing reports produced by peers, academics and other agencies
• Extensive travel for field work/primary data collection, field work supervision of the students and implementation of research projects.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Ph.D. in any field of Social Sciences
• Masters in any field of Social Sciences with 55% marks

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of experience in academic and research environments, including teaching, fieldwork, and research.
• At least one publication as the first or corresponding author in a Web of Science-indexed journal.
• Proven experience in coordinating and supervising data collection and research processes.
• Strong theoretical and technical expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies
• Expertise in various research tools, including referencing software, data analysis, data visualization, and data collection tools.
• Capability in conducting desk research, including systematic reviews and bibliometric analysis
• Experience in writing high-quality research reports and academic papers.
