Job Position: Sr. Manager- Water Conservation and Sustainability

Location: Mumbai

Salary: INR 9.60 LPA to 12.60 LPA (Depending on Experience)

 

Position Overview

CSRBOX is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager – Water Conservation & Sustainability to lead the organization's Water Stewardship and Sustainability practice. The role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in water resource management, watershed development, climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and CSR advisory. The incumbent will drive strategy, business development, client engagement, project delivery, and thought leadership while managing a portfolio of high-impact projects across India.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Strategic Leadership

• Lead the Water Conservation & Sustainability vertical by developing long-term strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify emerging opportunities in water security, climate adaptation, regenerative agriculture, ESG, biodiversity conservation, and natural resource management.
• Drive innovation and develop scalable solutions that create measurable environmental and social impact.
• Represent the organization as a subject matter expert in national and international forums.

2. Programme Design & Technical Advisory

• Lead the design and technical review of large-scale CSR and sustainability programmes.
• Develop integrated solutions on:
  • Watershed Development
  • Rainwater Harvesting
  • Groundwater Recharge
  • River Basin Management
  • Water Stewardship
  • Water Positive Initiatives
  • Sustainable Agriculture
  • Soil & Water Conservation
  • Climate Adaptation
  • Nature-based Solutions
  • Biodiversity Conservation
  • Circular Water Management
• Provide technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects align with national policies, SDGs, ESG frameworks, and international sustainability standards.

3. Growth & Strategic Partnerships

• Develop and execute business development strategies for the Environment & Sustainability portfolio.
• Build long-term partnerships with:
  • Corporate CSR Teams
  • ESG and Sustainability Teams
  • Government Departments
  • Bilateral & Multilateral Agencies
  • Development Partners
  • Philanthropic Foundations
  • International Organizations
• Lead proposal development, technical bids, concept notes, budgets, and client presentations.
• Identify new funding opportunities and develop strategic alliances.

4. Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for key corporate and institutional clients.
• Lead strategic discussions and project review meetings with clients.
• Ensure high client satisfaction and timely delivery of commitments.
• Manage long-term client engagement and identify opportunities for portfolio expansion.

5. Programme Oversight & Quality Assurance

• Provide overall oversight for multiple projects across different states.
• Ensure project delivery within approved scope, timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
• Review monitoring reports, impact assessments, technical deliverables, and implementation plans.
• Support risk identification and mitigation strategies.

6. Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact

• Establish monitoring frameworks and key performance indicators (KPIs) for environmental impact.
• Review project outcomes and ensure robust impact measurement.
• Lead third-party evaluations and sustainability assessments.
• Promote evidence-based decision-making through data analytics and reporting.

7. Government & Ecosystem Engagement

• Build strategic relationships with Central and State Government departments, research institutions, academic organizations, and technical agencies.
• Represent the organization in policy dialogues, technical committees, and sector forums.
• Facilitate convergence with government programmes wherever feasible.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Watershed Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, Sustainability, or related disciplines.
• 6 years of experience in CSR consulting, development-sector research, fundraising/partnerships, or programme management, water resource management, sustainability.
• Demonstrated experience in managing multi-state and large-scale CSR or donor-funded programmes.
• Proven track record in business development, proposal writing, and client acquisition.
• Experience working with corporate CSR teams, government agencies, multilateral organizations, and international development partners.
• Willingness to travel for events, district visits, and partner meetings.
