About the Organization

World Wide Fund for Nature-India (WWF India) was founded with the express objective of ensuring the conservation of the country's wildlife and natural habitats. It was set up as a Charitable Public Trust on 27 November 1969. It was then known as the World Wildlife Fund India, much before the terms 'wildlife' and 'environment' had caught the attention of the government or the public.

WWF India's modest beginnings entailed operating out of a limited office space at Horn Bill House in Mumbai and very few full-time staff. The running of the office relied largely on the goodwill of the close-knit group of its founders, and other associates who voluntarily contributed their time and resources to the work of the organisation.

Job Description

WWF-India is one of the largest organisations engaged in wildlife and nature conservation over the past 50 years. We are seeking applications from interested candidates to look after the accounts and finance work in the Hyderabad Office.

The incumbent will engage in budget preparation, preparation of documents for statutory audit,  bills and vouchers, monthly statements, audit of income and expenses of projects and programmes etc. The details job responsibilities are as under-

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the Annual Budget of the State Office and present it for approval in the beginning of the FY as well support the team in preparing budgets for conservation and education projects.
  • Preparation of bills and vouchers.
  • Posting entries into accounting softwares.
  • Carry out bank related activities.
  • Preparation of monthly statements and submission to Head Office as well as monthly update to State Director on fund availability status in each project.
  • Prepare audit documents for income and expenses of projects and programmes.
  • Liaison with supporting agencies and Donors for release of funds and submission of timely reports and donation receipts.
  • Preparation of documents for statutory audit at the end of the FY.
  • Renewal of rent agreement of the office building; office infrastructure updating.
  • Procuring and processing documents and quotations viz. office infrastructure, conservation and education related events/ projects requirements; etc.
  • Carry out timely payment of all utility bills.
  • Maintenance of stock register and library books.
  • Pitch in to the other activities of the State Office like environment education, conservation projects etc.
  • Support Fund Raising viz., merchandise sales; fund initiatives viz., Golf Tournament etc.
  • Work in co-ordination with the State Director to effectively and efficiently carry out the accounts and administration work in the State Office.
  • The position is based in Hyderabad, reporting to the State Director at the Hyderabad Office.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Graduate/ Post-Graduate in Commerce/ Maths/ Statistics/ Economics with good working knowledge of computers.
  • Working experience of accounting software like Tally, ERP, D 365 etc.
  • Reasonable knowledge of Taxation will be an added advantage.
  • Fluency in English, Telugu and working knowledge of Hindi.
  • Good writing and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel, if required.
