About Us:

Children living in childcare institutions (CCIs) or orphanages as they are known are forced to leave the only homes they have known when they turn 18 and become adults. They may not have the support of a family when they step out into the world.

WeLive Foundation was formed to address the needs of young adults, called care leavers, who leave childcare institutions at the age of 18. Our purpose is to support them to live independently and to integrate with society

WeLive Foundation supports care leavers through structured Residential and Non- Residential Bridge ProgramOperating centres in Bengaluru and Chennai, WeLive Foundation is looking for a detail- oriented and dedicated Center Mentor to support the management and execution of our residential and non–residential program.

Position: Centre Mentor- Female

Location: Bengaluru

Role Overview: The Centre Mentor is a mission-critical role at WeLive Foundation. You will play a key part in fostering a caring, nurturing, and supportive community for the young adults in our program. This position requires dedication, empathy, and a willingness to go beyond regular work hours in emergencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Community Building: Create and maintain a healthy, inclusive, and caring community among young adults.
  • Communication: Establish open and trustful channels of communication with the care leavers.
  • Nurturing Environment: Provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere where young people feel valued and supported.
  • Guidance s Support: Offer guidance to young adults in navigating personal and professional challenges.
  • Grievance Handling: Address grievances and attend to health-related concerns of the residents.
  • Attendance Monitoring: Ensure that care leavers attend their classes and work commitments consistently.
  • Administrative Tasks:
  1. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the centre and program.
  2. Prepare and manage reports regarding the activities and progress of the young adults.
  • Data Management: Keep the database updated with relevant information about the
  • young adults and program.

Experience s Qualifications:

An ideal candidate:

Experience:

  • Must have prior experience working with care leavers, young adults, or individuals in challenging circumstances.
  • Knowledge of the childcare ecosystem is preferred.

Soft Skills:

  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to connect with young adults.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Approachability and availability to address the concerns of the care leavers.

Hard Skills:

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel).

Language: English, Kannada and Hindi
