About National Health Systems Resource Centre
National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) has been set up under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) of Government of India to serve as an apex body for technical assistance. Established in 2006, the National Health Systems Resource Centre's mandate is to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the centre and in the states. The goal of this institution is to improve health outcomes by facilitating governance reform, health systems innovations and improved information sharing among all stake holders at the national, state, district and sub-district levels through specific capacity development and convergence models.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise healthcare database systems.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain diverse database ecosystems across Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MariaDB) and NoSQL (MongoDB) platforms.
- Engineer and manage highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native and hybrid database environments.
- Ensure database performance optimization, tuning, indexing, partitioning, and capacity planning.
- Configure and manage Master-Slave (Primary-Replica) replication topologies to ensure high availability, data redundancy, and read-workload offloading.
- Monitor and troubleshoot replication lag, synchronization errors, and connectivity issues.
- Execute failover procedures and disaster recovery drills, promoting replica nodes to primary status to minimize downtime.
- Monitor database health, availability, and uptime for critical healthcare applications.
- Handle database upgrades, migrations, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Implement database security controls including encryption, role-based access, auditing, and vulnerability management.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient healthcare data.
- Develop and maintain backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Conduct DR drills and ensure business continuity for operations.
- Assist in healthcare data warehousing and interoperability initiatives.
- Write complex queries and aggregation pipelines.
Qualification & Experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
Experience –
- Overall 10+ years of database administration and management experience including 5+ years in handling large-scale projects.
Strong expertise in:
- MySQL/ PostgreSQL
- MS SQL Server
- MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Cloud-Native Database Certifications.
- Working experience with cloud platforms on-premises or Amazon Web Services (AWS)/ Microsoft Azure/ Google Cloud.
Desirable:
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of data governance and master data management.
- Understanding of DevOps and cloud-native database solutions is preferred
Age Limit
- Up to 55 Years (as on the date of receiving the application) As per HR Policy
Remuneration Range
- Between Rs. 1,50,000/- to Rs. 1,75,000/- per month (As per Policy)
