Job Title: Fundraising Lead (Consultant)

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat with travel to different field areas, within and outside State

Compensation: INR 40,000 - 50,000 (Negotiable as per experience)

Job Summary:

The Fundraising Lead will drive the outreach and fundraising strategies of Utthan aligned with  its mission, values and goals.

This role integrates strategic thinking, creativity, and relationship-building to secure partnerships, mobilize resources, and amplify organizational impact through effective and engaging communication.

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy in alignment with the organization's goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential donors, including individual philanthropists, corporate sponsors, foundations, and government agencies.

 

2. Donor Engagement and Relationship Management

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors through regular communication, reporting, and acknowledgment.
• Build new partnerships by creating compelling proposals and presentations tailored to potential donors.
• Organize donor appreciation events, networking opportunities, and site visits to build long-term relationships.

3. Campaign Design and Execution

• Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including online crowdfunding, events, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
• Collaborate with the communications team to design marketing materials and social media campaigns.

4. Grant Writing and Proposal Development

• Research funding opportunities and write grant applications that align with the organization's objectives.
• Ensure timely submission of proposals and compliance with grant reporting requirements.

5. Data Management and Reporting

• Maintain a donor database and track contributions, donor history, and communication timelines.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on fundraising progress and recommend areas for improvement.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives through data analysis and feedback.

6. Team Collaboration and Coordination

• Work closely with program teams to understand funding needs and present them effectively to donors.
• Coordinate with finance team to ensure accurate reporting and transparency in fund utilization.

Skills and Competencies Required:

 

1. Technical Competencies

• Fundraising Knowledge: Understanding of donor behaviors, funding landscapes, and diverse fundraising techniques (digital, event-based, grant applications, etc.).
• Grant Writing: Strong ability to draft persuasive grant proposals and ensure compliance with funder guidelines.
• Database Management: Proficiency in maintaining the donor database
• Event Management: Experience in planning and managing donor events or campaigns.

• Relationship Management: Ability to engage and nurture relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for impactful storytelling and proposal writing.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit/impact investing setting.
• Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets.
• Familiarity with CSR guidelines and government funding processes is a plus.
