Job Description/Responsibilities

RTI is hiring a Green Hydrogen Specialist on the recently awarded USAID-funded Task Order Technical Support for South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP) activity.  This position will be based in New Delhi, India

Responsibilities of the Green Hydrogen Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Research in advanced technologies in area of green hydrogen and its derivatives such a green ammonia, green methanol etc.
  • Support implementation of contextually relevant policies, regulations, and guidelines to promote deployment of advanced technologies in the energy sector.
  • Support in capacity development efforts to ensure that utilities, regulators, and policy makers understand the cost-benefit of new technologies in Green Hydrogen solutions.
  • Ensure replication of successes and documentation of lessons learnt, experience sharing and wide dissemination.
  • Leads activities and achievement of results under Objective 2, including STTA advisors, and subcontractors supporting implementation of activities.
  • Provides technical guidance on selection, design, and implementation of technology demonstration activities.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years working in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying advanced energy solutions and systems such Renewable energy, storage solutions, green hydrogen etc.
  • Experience and understanding of innovative and emerging technologies and their relevance to the energy sector in India.

Preferred Skills or Knowledge:

  • Preferred expertise in one or more of the following technical sectors: Green hydrogen certification, mobility, green steel, carbon accounting, policy, regulation, and/or pilot projects in green hydrogen.
  • Familiarity with costing and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with Advanced Excel including Levelized cost calculations.
  • Demonstrated report writing skills.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience.
