Job Description
The Officer - Communication will be responsible for supporting key communications functions for the project through managing content and serving a key role in driving visibility. The individual will be instrumental in both producing and collecting dynamic content through photos, videos, and compelling stories for AIFT’s project.
This position requires a creative outlook, the ability to produce and coordinate content on tight deadlines, and the maintenance of complex systems and schedules. Those with a strong background in social media, multimedia production and/or international development will be given preference.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with the Project Manager and other members of the team to implement the communication strategy for Project to include both internal and external communications in all 11 functioning districts of the project.
- Support the Project Manager in developing a narrative and messages that reflect the core aims of Project and creating strategic presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan and coordinate and editorial calendar of Project to create a pipeline of content including collaterals, reports, articles, op-eds, press releases, and blogs. Draft, edit, proofread, and commission materials as appropriate
- Maintain communications with key stakeholders through regular mailings and newsletters. Produce high-quality, well-written, and visually appealing content to influence audiences’ donors/partners and government agencies. Content may include blogs, articles, infographics, media articles, case studies, opinion editorials, policy briefs, videos, social media content, monthly reports and presentations.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the project, identifying stories, and a knack to leverage project data for story-telling around key developments for dissemination.
- Work with Project Manager to continuously build communications assets, including a photo, story, and video bank for use in program resources and fundraising efforts.
- Assist in the creation of and be responsible for executing and managing a multi-channel online and social media strategy.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualize and execute compelling social and digital campaigns, including planning and distribution of multimedia content such as podcasts and videos.
- Measure, analyze, and document the success and impact of the Project, social media pages, and campaigns. Develop goals and metrics to measure analyze, and optimize the effectiveness of digital strategy via web analytics
- Research and identify thematic gaps and conduct needs assessment, where required.
- Collect quantitative and qualitative information of project.
- Develop and manage a database pf case studies and stories collected from the field (including photos and videos), and streamline processes to make content available widely across the organization for diverse uses.
- Support management of the website agency, design agency, or any other communications agency required for Communications tasks throughout the year Documentation.
- Develop a mechanism to collect & archive case/impact stories.
- Review quarterly/monthly/annual Beta version reports received from the field.
- Collect and collate data and numbers for the Board.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Experience/ bachelor’s degree in development, communications, journalism, English, management, or related fields.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in communications, preferably developing high-quality resources and publications, video and audio resources, conceptualizing and designing reports, and brand messaging through social media.
