Job Summary:

Role – Data Analyst

Employment Type – Full time

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Data Analyst to join our team to support data-driven decision-making for government schools in Maharashtra. This role will involve collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data on key metrics, including student assessments, attendance, mid-day meals, and the provision of educational materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analytics and a passion for improving educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1.        Data Collection and Management:

• Gather and manage large datasets from various sources, including student assessments, attendance records, mid-day meal distribution logs, and inventory data for educational materials.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality by adhering to data governance and privacy policies.

2.        Data Analysis and Interpretation:

• Conduct in-depth data analysis to derive insights on student performance, attendance trends, and effectiveness of educational materials.
• Identify patterns and trends in mid-day meal distribution and correlate these with student attendance and health indicators.

3.        Reporting and Visualization:

• Develop dashboards and visualizations to present complex data insights in a user-friendly format for stakeholders at various levels.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to provide actionable insights on attendance, assessment results, and other key indicators to inform program interventions.

4.        Assessment Data Analysis:

• Analyze student assessment data to identify learning gaps and trends.
• Provide insights on subject-wise performance and suggest interventions to improve student outcomes.

5.        Attendance Analytics:

• Track and analyze attendance data, identifying patterns and reasons for absenteeism.
• Work with stakeholders to recommend solutions to improve attendance rates.

6.        Mid-Day Meal Program Monitoring:

• Conduct data analytics on mid-day meal distribution, ensuring alignment with policy requirements.
• Provide insights into meal distribution's impact on student engagement and attendance.

7.        Educational Material Analytics:

• Assess data on the distribution and utilization of educational materials to ensure resources reach students effectively.
• Identify gaps in material provision and recommend adjustments to support student learning.

8.        Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with educational authorities, teachers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure accurate reporting.
• Work closely with the State Operations Lead to align data insights with strategic objectives and program goals.

9.        Process Improvement:

• Recommend data collection and analysis process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and impact.
• Stay updated on best practices in educational data analytics and apply them to enhance program effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Economics, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in education, government, or public sector organizations.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data modelling techniques.
  • Familiarity with data management best practices and data privacy regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and report presentation.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple data streams and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of Education Sector: Familiarity with the Indian education system, particularly government-run schools, is a strong asset.
