About the Organization

At The Apprentice Project (TAP), we’re rewriting the rules of learning — using AI to unlock deeply personalized, adaptive education for every child, no matter their background. Our flagship product, TAP Buddy, is an AI-powered learning companion that doesn’t just deliver content — it understands how kids think, learn, and grow.

At the heart of it lies PAL (Personalized Adaptive Learning) — a bold, AI-first engine powered by NLP, RAG models, graph databases, and student insight loops. PAL is the brain behind TAP Buddy — and now, we’re looking for the technologist who’ll help us build this brain — someone who thrives at the intersection of AI, backend systems, and full-stack problem-solving.

Job Description

We’re looking for an AI engineer who’s as excited about building models as about making them work in the real world.

You’ve built or fine-tuned transformer-based models, implemented RAG systems, or worked with embeddings and graph databases.

You can design APIs one day, optimize inference pipelines the next, and still have energy left to make sure the dashboard looks beautiful. If you love connecting algorithms to impact, we’d love to meet you.

Job Responsibilities

AI/ML Development

• Build AI-driven learning insights using Graph Databases (Neo4j), FAISS, Sentence Transformers, and OpenCV (ResNet-50).
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Reinforcement Learning models for adaptive learning.
• Implement multi-modal generation (text, image, voice) for personalized student interactions.
• Fine-tune transformer-based models (GPT, BERT, etc.) for contextual, culturally relevant learning experiences.

Backend & API Development

• Build and maintain a Frappe-based backend (or similar Python framework).
• Develop REST and GraphQL APIs to integrate PAL with TAP’s LMS and CRM systems.
• Implement Redis and Celery for background AI inference processes.
• Integrate Glific APIs for chatbot-driven adaptive learning.

Frontend & User Experience (Optional)

• Build React.js-based dashboards for personalized learning recommendations.
• Collaborate with UX designers to create intuitive, accessible, and data-rich interfaces.

Cloud & Deployment (DevOps)

• Deploy models on AWS, GCP, or Azure with scalability in mind.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Cypress.io) for continuous testing and updates.
• Use Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.

AI-Driven Security & Automation

• Embed AI-driven automation for personalized content delivery.
• Ensure data security and compliance with student privacy norms.
• Optimize NLP chatbot responses for contextual accuracy and tone.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• You’ve built and deployed AI/ML applications in production, ideally in EdTech, SaaS, or social impact settings.
• You’ve worked with GPT/BERT, LangChain, FAISS, or custom embeddings for RAG-based systems.
• You’re fluent in Python, Frappe, or FastAPI/Django, and can handle data pipelines end-to-end.
• You enjoy solving architectural challenges, not just writing scripts.
• You’re comfortable using AI-enhanced developer tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Cursor.
• Bonus: You’ve experimented with adaptive learning models or NLP for Indian languages.
