About National Institute of Disaster Management

The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) was constituted under an Act of Parliament with a vision to play the role of a premier institute for capacity development in India and the region. The efforts in this direction that began with the formation of the National Centre for Disaster Management (NCDM) in 1995 gained impetus with its redesignation as the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) for training and capacity development. Under the Disaster Management Act 2005, NIDM has been assigned nodal responsibilities for human resource development, capacity building, training, research, documentation and policy advocacy in the field of disaster management.

Purpose of Assignment

Design, development, technical support, maintenance, cloud administration & security audit of the IDRN portal.

Description

• Design, develop, maintain and provide technical support for the IDRN Portal, IDRN API, including website/application hosting, cloud infrastructure administration, database management and security- related activities.
• Update and further develop the technical and operational guidelines for the implementation of the IDRN portal.
• Manage and support hosting infrastructure, including server configuration, application deployment, resource monitoring, domain/DNS configuration and related technical administration.
• Assist in migration of the Portals, databases and associated applications/services from existing cloud infrastructure to new/upgraded cloud infrastructure.
• Conduct/coordinate Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), security audits and fix vulnerabilities, including development and implementation of security patches.
• Manage domain, DNS records, SSL/TLS certificates, IP configuration and other web infrastructure components of the IDRN Portal.
• Ensure database synchronization, regular backup, restoration and recovery of the IDRN database and application data.
• Prepare SRS, data collection formats, user manuals, technical documentation and training/demonstration materials in consultation with concerned faculty members and IT Division of NIDM.
• Liaise with IDRN stakeholders, including State and District Administrations, Central Ministries/Departments and other concerned agencies, for regular collection and collation of data updating and related technical activities, provide guidance and technical assistance.
• Impart training to the IDRN stakeholders & end users as and when required.
• Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual reports relating to the IDRN Portal, including system status, data updating, security, hosting and other technical activities.
• Process, maintain and update official files, records, technical documentation and correspondence related to the IDRN Portal.

Qualification and competencies

Academic Qualification

• Essential Post-Graduation Degree in Computer Applications/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Computer Technology

Work Experience

• Essential • Minimum 5 years of experience in Design, development, technical support, maintenance, hosting, cloud/server administration, application deployment, security audit, server migration, domain/DNS management, SSL/TLS certificates and related web infrastructure management
• Development & maintenance of web applications using Microsoft Visual Studio 2022/2026, .NET IDE with ASP.NET, MVC 4/5 using C# and SQL Server 2022/2024.
• Desirable Prior working experience in Govt./Training Institute/Disaster Management.

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in written and spoken Hindi and English is required for this position

Upper Age Limit

• Maximum 40 years

Remuneration

• Band Rs.75,000/- - Rs.1,00,000/- per month
