Job Description
The Program Coordinator for Second Chance will support the overall implementation of the program in Andhra Pradesh / Telangana. He/she will also directly supervise a team of 15-20 personnel and be responsible for the overall execution of the Second Chance program. His/ her responsibilities stretch two ways: supporting the implementation and planning on the ground and working with a variety of stakeholders in the district, state, and central teams.
Job Responsibilities
- The Program Coordinator will oversee the program’s planning, implementation, and evaluation. Ensure effective community engagement at the community level.
- Develop reporting frameworks, budgets, and data management, and provide inputs for donor reporting.
- Maintain records to document project activities and organise timely reviews for regular monitoring.
- Communication and Implementation: Oversee the daily operations of designated program activities including conducting field visits and observing classes.
- Provide feedback to the team based on the observations. Enhance the team’s capacity by educating them on relevant policies and practices.
- Identify and lead capacity-building opportunities for the organisation/team members. Understand the organisational values and act accordingly.
- Travel to project locations to understand implementation challenges, and provide support, troubleshooting, and course correction as and when required.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Internal Candidate: Candidates must show a good understanding of Pratham’s programs in their respective states and must have a minimum of five years of experience leading the program and team. Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
- External candidates: Candidates applying must have at least 5+ years of experience in running operations for non-profit sector programs, must speak the local languages and exemplify skills that are specific to sectoral practices.
Basic Skills
- Interest in areas like education of children and adults, Data analysis and tools (Excel)
- Fluency in languages (Telugu, Hindi, and English)
- Interpersonal skills, communication skills that help the person interact with team members and respect everyone equally.
- Innovative thinker with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output Excellent conceptual ability and proactive problem-solving proficiency.
- Language Knowledge: Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking in Telugu, Hindi, and English.
- Team player and time management skills. Ability to be self-motivated and manage a complex workload, Experience in working with stakeholders, government departments, and donors)
- Community/parent engagement (for participation in education for children and youth)
