About the Programme
Capacity building of Anganwadi Sevikas in Uran the Uran Anganwadi Project will aim to strengthen Anganwadi centers as safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate early learning spaces through structured mentoring and capacity building. The programme will focus on building the capacities of 123 Anganwadi Sevikas in Uran through planned training and continuous on-site mentoring to improve classroom practices, learning environments, and teacher–child interactions. Mentors support Anganwadi workers in applying training into daily practice, using simple monitoring tools to track quality and children’s progress. The project also includes ongoing, age-appropriate assessments to understand children’s learning needs, support their overall development, and ensure a smooth transition to formal schooling in an inclusive and supportive early learning environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Mentor and support approximately 25 assigned Anganwadi Sevikas through regular field visits.
- Plan and facilitate trainings, refresher sessions, and other capacity-building activities for Anganwadi workers.
- Observe teacher–child interactions, classroom management, teaching practices, and learning environments and provide constructive feedback.
- Support Anganwadi Sevikas in applying training inputs and best practices in them day-to-day classroom practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of mentoring visits, programme activities, observations, and progress.
- Regularly use the digital monitoring and evaluation application to record, review, and analyze programme data for continuous improvement.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of early childhood education and development (ages 3–6)
- Ability to mentor adults using supportive, non-judgmental approaches
- Comfort with mobile-based applications and basic data analysis
- Good observation, documentation, and feedback skills
- Clear communication in Hindi and/or Marathi; working knowledge of English
- Ability to manage multiple centers and field schedules independently
- Willingness to travel extensively within Navi Mumbai
Qualify cations & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human
- Development, Social Work, or related fields
- Minimum 1 year of experience in preschool teaching, teacher training,
- or academic mentoring (preferred)
- Experience working with Anganwadi systems or government
- programmes is an advantage
