Peepul is an education-focused non-profit organisation committed to transforming India's education system and enabling every child to reach their full potential. We work closely with national, state, and local governments to transform government schools and government systems. Currently, we work with governments in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh to meaningfully have an impact across ~325,000 teachers and 9.75 million+ students across 100,000+ schools.

Job Description

Peepul is entirely impact-driven and aims to provide all students with essential Computing and Problem-solving skills, necessary for succeeding in the 21st-century workplace. Utilizing open-source technology like www.code.org, Peepul aims to offer quality computer science education to students across schools. The role of the School Coordinator, Digital Literacy, is critical to the success of the continued partnership, as the school coordinator will be an excellent executor, independently leading and driving program implementation on the ground while providing support for teachers at the school. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills to support and influence stakeholders and work towards building sustainable relationships at multiple levels in the education system. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in scaling the initiative with enormous potential impact. To enable the program's success, we need to rapidly roll-out and scale our support to reach all students and teachers under the program.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage execution of Peepul's (AFE) programs with teachers at the schools.
• Visit schools to oversee program implementation and identify areas of support.
• Problem solve with schools to ensure access of Digital Literacy classes in schools.
• Provide timely support to teachers to help them understand and engage with the Amazon Future Engineering (AFE) program.
• Capture and communicate feedback from the ground to strengthen program design and implementation.
• Take ownership and deliver critical parts of program implementation.
• Conduct and plan learning sessions and trainings with teachers to enhance their program understanding and implementation.
• Create mechanisms for increasing impact, such as classroom observation and coaching of teachers on program implementation and knowledge building.
• Manage relationships with government officials and other stakeholders to align them on the broader vision of the program.
• Deeper understanding around MS Office tools, AI platforms, and various other digital tools that can be used for teaching and learning by educators.
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials across schools to ensure the success of Peepul's program.
• Integrate with and understand the lives of government teachers and officials deeply to identify pain points. • Widen and deepen Peepul's understanding of field realities and activities.
• Develop and maintain an effective feedback mechanism to ensure and support evidence-based planning and decision-making.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate about driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements:
• Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates with 2-4 years of experience in teaching is highly desirable. Familiarity with using educational technology and online platforms like www.code.org for teaching computer science concepts is advantageous.
• Other Skills: Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills. Also, analytical skills for data-driven adaptation of teaching methods and lesson plans.
• Language Proficiency: English and Hindi
