ABOUT THE PROGRAM
AIF’s Livelihoods program envisions a world where poor and vulnerable communities have access to dignified work opportunities, empower them with sustainable livelihoods. Since 2006, the Livelihoods Program has directly and indirectly served 2.20 million people from vulnerable communities. Leveraging technology to provide financial and market linkages, knowledge, skills, and dignified work opportunities, the program helps the communities secure jobs, manage enterprises, and make a respectable living. Since its inception in 2006, through its flagship programs Market Aligned Skills Training (MAST) and Ability Based Livelihood Empowerment (ABLE), AIF Livelihoods has provided program support to 825,960 disadvantaged youth, women and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and impacted 343,727 livelihoods.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Village Vistaar is a multidimensional response to all the on-ground road blocks coming in the way of
overall growth of rural citizens. This response is further simplified through a 4 E model of growth covering Employment, Entrepreneurship, Entitlements and Environment. When these 4 Es are taken up in isolation, the outcome and the impact never gets aligned with the development vision and interventions on ground as they lack the provision of accommodating the deep aspirations and real needs of the communities. The 4 E model of growth enables the communities to engage with the area of immediate urgency and embark on their journey towards a better future. It also maximizes the community participation and co ownership by local authorities through direct alignment with the available resources, schemes, and local aspirations.
Parallelly Village Vistaar gives enough opportunity to the funding partners and collaborators to pick and
choose all the 4 Es (thematic sub areas) or start supporting the chosen ones. The primary role is to skill
and empower 1000 women candidates in identified domain skills and further align them with market needs for self-employment and remote job opportunities.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive market research, including scoping studies and focused research on emerging markets, potential buyers, product trends, and effective marketing strategies, for strategic planning and organizational development.
- Collaborate with senior management to align market insights with organizational goals and project strategies.
- Utilize market research findings to identify potential market linkage partners.
- Provide actionable insights to drive informed decision-making and market penetration.
- Initiate contact, negotiate terms, and establish fruitful partnerships with prospects
- Foster enduring relationships with market partners to optimize business opportunities.
- Negotiate favorable terms such as 100% digital money transactions and increased volume commitments.
- Facilitate Buyer-Seller Interactions by serving as liaison between buyers and importers, facilitating communication and managing relationships.
- Organize and support self-help groups' participation in national and international trade shows and targeted buyer meetings
- Contribute to brand development initiatives aimed at promoting regional and sectoral products.
- To maintain and update necessary periodic reports and documentation as required in the project
- Any other task/responsibility assigned by the line manager.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum of a B.A. or B. Sc Degree in Marketing or Social Work or a similar discipline.
- Minimum of four 3-4 years of experience working in rural entrepreneurship development
- Strong writing and speaking skills in English and local language
- Direct experience in marketing, import/export, and relationship management.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and a team player; able to work independently.
- Sound knowledge and experience in using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other Microsoft Office software programs.
- Experience in website management and graphics programs is desirable.
- Product design, both design and graphic design experience a plus.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.
- Organized and able to create multiple timelines, budgets, and schedules
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure and disciplined
