Job Description
DPIC is seeking a part-time Communications Officer to structure and streamline its outreach and build brand visibility. The ideal candidate is well-versed in information simplification, communicates effectively through writing and has prior experience in tailoring research and analytical findings for relevant stakehold- ers using different communication channels. The candidate must be aware of the latest digital tools and trends and contribute towards amplification of the DPIC outputs using social media and other digital plat- forms. Previous exposure to working with government departments will be an added advantage.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the manager of DPIC's strategic communication and capacity-building initiatives.
- Craft content for producing knowledge products and marketing communications materials such as press releases, website feature stories, program brochures, event summary notes, identifying and capturing success stories, etc.
- Ensure strategic engagement with different stakeholder groups through curated synthesized content drawn from complex research findings, data analysis, etc.
- Advance DPIC's brand in the media, both in Odisha and nationally
- Assist in the execution of digital engagement efforts and events
- Perform digital content audits, collect and analyze metrics of web platforms and social media ac- counts, and adjust tactics to improve reach and engagement.
- Support capacity building of government officials in communication and outreach.
- Support DPIC leadership with additional outreach tasks as and when required.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or other related discipline
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit or development sector communications with a focus on writing for specific audiences, creating knowledge products, and handling media relations, among others
Competencies
- Ability to simplify and synthesize complex research and analytical findings into digestible content and customize it for different social media platforms, press briefs, website features, and other outreach materials
- Experience in the design and delivery of organizational websites and managing social media plat- forms at the same time with an integrated outcome.
- Familiarity with SEM & SEO skills to accelerate digital engagement across platforms
- Excellent analytical skills and demonstrate fluency in converting insights into tactics.
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics, social media monitoring tools, etc
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Odia language is an asset.
- Proven knowledge of designing creatives on design software for social media content will be an added advantage
