About the Organization

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), headed by the Prime Minister of India, is the apex body for Disaster Management in India. Setting up of NDMA and the creation of an enabling environment for institutional mechanisms at the State and District levels is mandated by the Disaster Management Act, 2005. NDMA is mandated to lay down the policies, plans and guidelines for Disaster Management. India envisions the development of an ethos of Prevention, Mitigation, Preparedness and Response.

Job Description/Responsibilities

Geo-Technology Professionals (Consultants, Senior Consultants, and Lead Consultants) will provide support in disaster risk mapping, spatial analysis, data visualization, and the application of geospatial tools to enhance preparedness and mitigation strategies. These roles will be deployed based on specific project needs and regional priorities.

• Consultants will support spatial data collection, mapping, and basic GIS analysis.
• Senior Consultants will lead complex GIS modeling, data integration, and application development.
• Lead Consultants will oversee strategic geo-technology implementation, coordinate with national institutions, and provide policy guidance.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

Education:

• Education: Master’s in Geo-Informatics, Remote Sensing, Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a related field with specialization in spatial technologies. - Certifications: Certification in GIS, Remote Sensing, Python for Geospatial Analysis, or Spatial Database Management would be an added advantage.

Experiences:

• Consultant: 3–7 years of experience in GIS/RS project implementation, data visualization, mapping, and analytics.
• Senior Consultant: 8–12 years of experience including leadership in GIS systems, spatial decision support tools, policy implementation, and training.
• Lead Consultant: More than 12+ years of experience in strategic geospatial planning, national or international collaboration, policy leadership, and advanced analytics.
