ARMMAN leverages mHealth to create cost-effective and scalable systemic solutions to improve access of pregnant women and mothers to preventive information and services and train health workers to reduce maternal and child mortality and morbidity.
- Our programs have reached over 40 million women and over 3 lakh health workers across 20+ states to date.
- ARMMAN has received several awards and honors including the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship 2020 and MIT Elevate Prize 2021, as well as grants from Co-Impact, Google.org, USAID, and others.
Job Description
The Deputy Director Programs will be responsible for the strategic direction of an organization’s programs, including their development, implementation, and evaluation. Their role involves a variety of duties, including, Program Planning, Program Goals, Program Evaluation, Stake Holder Management, Communication, Team Building & problem resolution.
Job Responsibilities
The Deputy Director - Programs will be responsible for planning, development, and implementation of programs under her/ him, as well as ensuring that programs are aligned with the organization’s mission and values:
- Developing and approving budgets, operations, and plans of programs, including identifying processes, deadlines, goals and milestones.
- Hiring, training, and supervising program managers and other senior team members, and resolving issues between program teams and other stakeholders internal as well as external. the person is responsible for, undertaking any course correction, expand the programme scope and geographies.
- Devises Monitoring & Evaluation strategies in conjunction with the M&E team to monitor performance and determine areas for improvement.
- Creates and nurtures effective communication within the team and organization, and reports status updates to leadership and or the executive team.
- Ensure that programs comply with all legislation and statutory requirements.
- Ensure effective and efficient program documentation and set up documentation systems and processes where required, closely monitor the same.
- Ensure effective and efficient program reporting systems are put in place in reference to all the stake holders especially donors, closely monitor the same
- Ensure effective and efficient program data management and extraction systems and process are in place, liaison with the IT team for the same, closely monitor the same.
- Represents the organization at development sector events, donor events and other relevant public forums.
- Drives innovation and continuous improvement within programs.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Manage teams, motivate staff, and build partnerships.
- Design, plan, execute, monitor, and evaluate programs.
- Effective stakeholder engagement, reporting, and advocacy.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Track program impact, outcomes, and lessons learned.
- Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, communities, and organizations.
- Respond to changing contexts, priorities, and donor requirements.
- Uphold organizational values, ethics, and accountability.
- Program design and planning.
- Project management tools (e.g., Logical Framework Approach, Theory of Change).
- Budgeting and financial management(e.g., Excel, financial software).
- Monitoring and evaluation frameworks (e.g., Results-Based Framework).
- Data analysis and reporting (e.g., SPSS, Tableau).
- Grant writing and fundraising strategies.
- Donor relations and stewardship.
- Partnership development and management.
- Community engagement and participation.
- Policy analysis and advocacy.
- Emotional Intelligence.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Coaching and mentoring.
- Team building and motivation.
- Time management and prioritization.
- Cultural sensitivity and diversity awareness.
- Effective listening and feedback.
- Problem-solving and decision-making.

- Understanding of development sector trends and challenges.
- Knowledge of donor requirements and funding mechanisms.
- Familiarity with NGO governance and compliance.
- Experience with community-based programs and participatory approaches.
- Understanding of social justice, equity, and human rights principles.
- Master’s Degree, MBA preferred
- 12- 15 Yrs of Experience
